In this week's food and economical news, avian flu has apparently been detected in turkeys raised by Butterball farms.

The company has yet to release much information about how they'll be taking care of the situation or how it seems to have come about, but they are under a quarantine and will not be sending any poultry out to production until the issue is taken care of. Luckily, bird flu is not something that can cause humans to become ill. However, it can wipe out entire populations of birds due to its deadly symptoms. Might be wise to steer clear of turkey and chicken for a few days just to be safe!

  1. When I first started reading this my reaction was "oh god" something that could potentially wipe out the human race so when I finished reading I was at ease. That being said the wipe out of birds could very much effect us and eco system.
